YSR has little time for NRIs
CYBERABAD: Unlike the presentations by the Gujarat and Bihar chief ministers, the one given by chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on the second day of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was lacklustre.
Rajasekhara Reddy merely listed a handful of sops for NRI investors at the interactive session with the chief ministers on Sunday morning.
In the afternoon, the chief minister even abruptly left another programme parallel session with states saying he had to leave due to some otherengagements.

This has disappointed many NRIs who came in large numbers to attend the programme. "Being a host state, the chief minister should have allocated more time for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention.
At least, he should have answered all our questions," said a woman NRI from the US. Echoing similar sentiments, another NRI from the US said: "We can understand his tight schedule, but he should not have left the question and answer session in the midst."
Considering that Pravasis of Andhra Pradesh origin were in good strength at this year's event, the chief minister lost an opportunity to woo investors, said analysts.

Reddy too appeared uncomfortable in comprehending questions posed to him by several NRIs - their accent and the glitches in the sound system troubled him. He asked tourism minister J Geeta Reddy to relay a few questions.
Besides, the chief minister looked gloomy right from the morning. He came late for the afternoon session and after a few minutes he had asked officials to stop the Power Point presentation on AP.
"Since I have other engagements, I have to leave now. Anyone who has questions for me can raise them now. And after this, officials will continue the Power Point presentation," he said.
The chief minister answered not more than 15 questions and left the session abruptly. Surprisingly, the officials too wound up the programme then and there.
